The topics you hear these days

Is it just me or does everything these days turn into a political debate? Maybe it's because I'm a college student and I hear other college students discussing hot topics. I think I've heard pretty much everything these past few weeks. Abortion rights, legal steroids, leagalizing marijuana, gun control and more. I figure the debates are brought out more now because the presidential election is right around the corner and everyone has an opinion on who is taking what side. Then when the election is over, these things calm down a little. But who knows, this is an interesting election year and depending on the winner, we may see some pretty big changes.
