They never let up

Guess what I got in the mail? Not one of those rfid credit card things but it did have to do with our credit cards. See, we don't have any credit card debt but we still have our cards. It's been HEAVENLY not having to pay on our cards but we still receive offers in the mail all the time. Today, we received two sets of consolidation checks. There was a time we had used those kinds of checks once, maybe twice, but not since. They're nice for awhile if you get the right APR following that 0% introductory rate. But otherwise, that APR can be killer, so you have to be careful. Anyway, I don't like receiving all the credit card junk in the mail. I know there's probably a way to stop them from coming but I haven't looked into it. If you know of said way, feel free to let me know. It would save me a lot of time. ;)

A couple of years ago, my mortgage broker told me to go to going onto optoutprescreen.com and follow the instructions to opt out. This will opt you out of receiving all of those pre-approved credit cards that you get in the mail. Credit card companies do a soft pull on your credit when they mail those to you which can lower your score. By opting out, it prevents them from being able to do anything and it also decreases the amount of junk mail you receive.

Hi Michelle.
There is an opt-out list somewhere, Mr. Crabbs comment above may have what it is.

I'd shred whatever you do get, just to be on the safe side.

It is VERY nice not to have credit card debt - you are smart to be so prudent!
