PT #2, Episode 3

The Underwear Fairy came! In case you don't have any idea what I'm talking about, here are the details. At our house, when you're done PT'ing, the Underwear Fairy comes and takes away all the diapers/pull-ups and replaces them with fun, new underwear, instead of just plain ones. In this case, Miss A who loves Elmo, received Elmo underwear. (So Miss J wouldn't feel left out, we gave her Tinkerbell underwear too.) She was so excited to have Elmo underwear and I think she's even more careful not to pee on him, lol!

While she still has the occasional accident, maybe once a week, she's doing very well. I was worried it would take longer for her to figure out the pooping part, but she's finally picked that up too (uh, the concept, not the actual, well, you know). Now I can happily say that Miss A. is PT! Woohoo!

It's been nice not having to change diapers and even nicer to throw away the diaper pail!! That alone may have been our favorite part of this whole thing. :) The only struggle left to deal with is that even though your child has learned to recognize when they need to go, they haven't really learned how to hold it until you find a bathroom. This becomes rather inconvenient when you're driving and know you have only minutes, if you're lucky, to find a restroom. Remember that gas stations are your friend. :)

So Miss A is happy, I'm happy, Spouse is happy, and Miss J is happy. We're just a bunch of happily potty trained clams over here. :D

Good for her!!! I'm excited for you. I bet you'll be excitd when Kenzie's potty trained, so you don't have to deal with OUR diapers, outside the door! (Sorry- we use to have a diaper jeanie, but it still made our entire house reak! And I guess I'm just too lazy to walk every dirty diaper to the dumpster! So - garbage on the porch- it is!)

What a clever idea about the underwear fairy. I might have to steal that one!!!

(PS: Boys are easier about the holding it thing. There have been many trips that we've just had to pull over and let him pee on the side of the road. But girls? Not so easy! UGH--I'm really not excited!)

Good job! Yay!!

I can say that without any tinge of envy, too, since Logan has made LEAPS AND BOUNDS of progress this week (I guess he has been ready, and now that I have a washing machine inside my house, I'm ready, too, ha ha).

But you'll have to let me know if you've got any tips on encouraging them to tell you when they need to go. Right now I just make him go to the bathroom every two hours or so, or when he's dancing around (LOL). If I wait for him to tell me he needs to go (or wait for him to walk in there and just do his business), he has an accident. Any tips? :-)

Congrats!! You are always so creative, did you come up with the fairy on your own?
