Monday Movie Review

Thanks to a giveaway from 5 Minutes For Mom, I won a 6 month free subscription to Netflix and so far I love it! We get three movies at a time plus 18 hours of instant viewing on Netflix's website. Below are the movies we've watched and how we rated them. Just in case someone wants to rent a movie but isn't sure what. :)

5 stars - Loved it and would buy it!
4 stars - Really liked it, may buy it.
3 stars - Enjoyable.
2 stars - Not really that good.
1 star - Ewww, never again.

"Gideon: Tuba Warrior" - This is a Veggie Tales movie and great for the kids or for grownups like me, who like kid movies. lol Gideon, the lovely Larry the Cucumber, has to defend the people from an army of 30,000. It was cute and the girls enjoyed it. 4 stars.

"It Could Happen to You" - This is based on a true story about a selfless man from New York (Nicholas Cage) who doesn't have enough money to tip a waitress. So he tells her if he wins the lottery he will split the money with her. He ends up winning 4 million from the lottery and does indeed give her half. The movie takes you through the events that take place after winning. We loved this show and I would buy it. It's a good romance and has a great ending. I wish there were more people in the world like the man in this movie, honest and genuinely caring. The only downside was some language. 5 stars.

"Night at the Museum" - This movie kept me laughing. It's about the adventures a new night guard at a museum encounters. The monkey slap scene was hilarious and the stone piece who kept saying "dumb dumb, gum gum." My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves. Again, the language wasn't very good. Why do they have to put it in?? 4 stars.

"The Core" - We utilized Netflix "watch now" option and saw this movie on our computer. It kept me on the edge of my seat as it's one of those our-world-is-in-jeopardy kind of movies. It's about a group of individuals who have to go to the center of the Earth to get the core spinning again. The parts I didn't like was the language (shocking) and the "intense peril" as Netflix calls it. People do die and it was more graphic than I would prefer. 3 stars.
