What kind of remover do you use?

What happens when you turn your back on a two year old holding nail polish? You get a very colorful bathtub. What happens when you try to clean up the nail polish in the tub, with water? An even more colorful bathtub.

Yeah, some days I'm not very bright and that day, was not one of my best. I ended up using half a bottle of nail polish remover to get most of the bright pink (it had to be a bright color) out of my tub and then I finished it off by using a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (these things rock!). Anyway, I had called my friend Leah, a fellow mommy, and knew she would get a kick out of my ordeal. Amidst our conversation, she brought up the topic of non-acetone nail polish remover.

Now first off, I didn't know there was nail polish remover without acetone in it (and a lot that say they don't have any, still have a little). Since I was out after our mishap, I went to Wal-Mart to get more and found some acetone-free remover, which I did purchase. The price was pretty comparable to the normal remover with acetone, so that was a plus.

Now I was just going off what my friend had told me, but I wanted to look into why acetone was such a bad thing. I read this post and this article and found them both to be informative. This article was interesting and mentioned Non-Acetone Nail Polish Remover Wipes, something I'm going to look into my next trip to the store. Take a look at these links and decide for yourself what you want to do.

After my research, I've made my own decisions. Nail polish with acetone and acetone-free nail polish that has ethyl acetate (the one I bought did, dang), are two things I'm no longer going to buy. Both are harmful and I'd rather use something more natural, like the wipes mentioned in the third link. Thanks Leah for opening my eyes because I had no idea and now hopefully one more person is a little more educated. :)

I love your new look too, cute, but not too girly.
I started using the non-acetone back when I had fake nails. I had some of the regular spill on carpet and melt a plastic garbage can to the floor... scary!
