The book with a face

A friend emailed earlier today telling me she had created a profile with Facebook and was hoping I would join in too. Now, I've heard a lot of things about Facebook and how it's a great resource to find classmates and what not. But I've never wanted to do anything with it. Despite past thoughts on the topic, I decided to sign up and take a gander. I did find a good number of people from my high school and others I've met over the years, but it wasn't anything spectacular. Maybe I'm missing something? I am a newbie, so there's probably a whole bunch of things that could make it more interesting. But for now, I'll just play around with my profile.

Do you have a Facebook account? If yes, why do you like it and what do you use it for?

Your titles crack me up. I have read this twice now and it just hit me! I dont really have an opinion one way or the other, I have an account but I really only use it when someone sends me a message. Thanks for the add:)

Personally I love Facebook. I have reconnected with people who I never bothered to e-mail before (cousins, friends from old BYU wards, etc.) And yeah, a couple friends from high school, too (but most of them I don't really care to be friends with). I love how on Facebook I can share pictures and major events in my life (or minor events, if I want to) and people I know and like have a way to find out about it without me spamming them.

I love the clean look of Facebook as opposed to MySpace (though now that there are apps some people's pages are messier than others) and the fact that it is more private than MySpace.

Anyway. I really do like Facebook. However, my techy husband has to have me show him how to use it. He doesn't think it's all that intuitive. ;-)
