I'm relatively new to blogging but somethings I just don't understand. Here are a few:
1. It's common courtesy if someone posts on your blog that you post on theirs right? I think it's a fun way to meet new people and find other fun blogs to read. But hey, maybe it's just me.
2. People don't post your comments? I know a lot of bloggers have enabled comment moderation to keep out the yucky people, I'm just fine with that. But I'm not a yucky person! It's kind of like a jab in the ribs when you comment (something nice I might add!) but it never gets posted. Sure, some people have tons of comments to post so maybe they overlook a few. But you get the hint after repeated comments are made but none are posted. But hey, maybe it's just me.
3. Is responding to comments important? I try to respond to everyone who comments on my blog. I want them to know that I appreciated them stopping by, I want them to be "validated" in a way. So I wonder why other people dont and I think well, they are probably busy. Really I don't mind if every comment I make doesn't get a response, that's not what bothers me. It's just when I post and post and post and get nothing. Makes me wonder if they even want me to comment on their blog. But hey, maybe it's just me.
I don't know, I shouldn't be caught up in the whole "blogging" thing. But that's why people blog right? To receive comments from people who think that what they are saying is something worthwhile? It could just be me. Today I have zero chocolate in my house, maybe that's why I'm grumpy. lol
I did not create this post to annoy or upset anyone or even to make you feel bad. It's just some thoughts that have been in my head. :)
Added: This does not apply to my reglular blogging friends. :D

*hangs head in shame* I am one of those who don't reply to my comments on my blog. There have been times where I responded, but as a rule, I don't. I do try to comment on people's blogs who read mine, though, so it's not totally lop-sided. I guess I've always thought, "if I come read your blog and leave a comment, that's my way of saying, 'hey, thanks for coming to MY blog and leaving a comment, too!'" That and "I like you and find your life interesting!"
I didn't realize you were responding to my comments on YOUR blog, actually, because I don't have an RSS feed to your comments (I *could* set one up; maybe I should).
So now I went back to read all of those comments-in-response-to-my-comments. Aww! Thanks for writing back!! *hugs Duckie and gives her chocolate, too*
I don't know if I'm making any sense, but if I type much more this comment will be post-length. Eek!
Beth! LOL You didn't even come to mind when I wrote this! I should have added that if someone doesn't reply to a comment but does check out my blog, that's perfectly fine. :D You're so sweet though to read all the comments I made!
I don't think I could ever be upset with you. You're one of the nicest people I know.

Hey sweetie! Sorry about the lack of chocolate. Should I comment more? I kind of like talkin to you more in IM ;)or on the phone! One of the reasons I dont have a blog so I dont have to worry about stuff like this I guess. Plus, I dont really have things to say worth anyone else's time anyway;) But I love comin here everyday to see if you have something new posted!!

I feel the same way :) Though I don't always reply back in my comments. But I do often check out blogs that comment on mine. And there are many blogs I comment on frequently that never respond to me, kinda annoying but I guess maybe they are busy :)
It is hard to keep up with all of Kara's posts! I do try to comment once every day or every other day, and I read everything. :-)
I tell you guys, RSS feeds are the way to go when it comes to reading blogs. You can google "RSS reader" and try to set something up -- if you have a gmail account you can look here, for example:
http://www.google.com/reader/view/
I know, I am a techie-geek. But really, I have to be, married to my DH.

Rachel Anne - I know exactly what you mean. I'm a student and a mom to two children, I don't always have the time to blog and reply to blogs. I don't know the proper "ettiquette" either, these have just been my own observations. I think I may just be boring. ;) Thanks for stopping by!

Sorry, I know the lack of chocolate was a hint to me that I need to get around to sending your carmels. Dang it. I'll get them out soon, really I will. They are dipped now, so they'll last a good long time, hahaha!

I have been trying to comment but wonder if the person who adds a comment comes back? So I have been commenting at there blog as well. I am new to blogging and I still am confused!
