I'm really picky when it comes to my bananas. First, they can't be all mushy, that's just gross. The outside can have a few dark spots but not a lot for me to want to eat it. I peel it starting from the top, unless I'm in a monkey mood and I will start from the bottom. While I'm peeling, I have to peel off all the little stringy parts of my banana because they give me the creeps if I eat them. If there are lightly bruised areas, I cut them off with a knife. If a part is really bruised, I'll throw it away. Then I break off my banana, just above the bottom because that's icky too, and then I devour. My whole process may seem a bit anal, but at least I eat them right? LOL
So, how do you peel a banana?
Also, I just received a sweet blog award from Kate! Thank you so much! My first blog award, yippee! It's off to the side so you all can admire it. ;)

I eat bananas as the sole member of our household "clean-up crew," meaning I eat them when I see that the bananas are getting waaaaay too many spots and are about to go bad so I have one. Otherwise they're saved for Logan, who goes banana-crazy sometimes (which is why we must have them on hand always, because they are one of the few things he eats).
DH, on the other hand, can hardly even touch a banana without getting the heebie-jeebies, so he's no help on eating them before they go bad.
I am trying to imagine peeling a banana from the bottom -- would you use a knife? I try my hardest to avoid getting out a knife because I am lazy like that; that's how I peel my banana. :-)
I pretty much do the same thing you do Michelle :) MMM, now I want bananas.
Beth - You can use your fingernails to peel from the bottom. It's a little harder, but it makes you feel like a monkey, which is fun for me, but maybe not for saner people like you. ;)
Kara - Yay! Someone else is picky about them too!! I feel so relieved. :D
Ok, that totally rocks! I do the exact same thing with my bananas! I love most anything banana...banana cream pie, banana pudding, banana bread, I even call my daughter Banana! Mmmmm, the monkey inside is comin out!! Oh and BTW...thanks for putting the "banana" song in my head! ;) You are so funny!
I totally agree with the comments everyone's leaving about craving bananas now! *pouts* LOL
Bananas hardly ever go mushy in our house . . . unless we WANT them to . . . Christopher and I love to bake, and he often asks if we can get bananas . . . so we can let them spoil and make banana bread! LOL
Congrats on the award! =)
I only eat bananas that are veeeery unripe. I like 'em with a bit of green on 'em.
Mmmm, me too! I do the same as you Michelle. Bananas are also yummy in Cheerios, Wheaties, Corn flakes.... yummy!
Mmmm, bananas in cereal. I haven't done that in awhile. Delicious! I'm glad we're all banana lovers!
I like bananas with brown spots but not mushy. I can't eat them if they have no brown spots. I have issues with texture.
I want bananas now lol! I don't care how I peel it, I just love banans and love getting them. I just can not keep enough in my house to satisy everyone! We never have any that are rotten. Only once in a while do I get some rotten ones and get to make some good banana bread!
